Indian Trail High School and Academy Chorale

John Choi (Wisconsin)

The Chorale is the premier mixed choral ensemble at Indian Trail High School and Academy in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Founded in 2010, this 70-voice ensemble is the cornerstone of the school’s vocal music program. The group has performed at regional festivals, state conferences, and internationally in cities including Rome, Paris, London, Vienna, and Salzburg. Representing a diverse student body, the Chorale offers inclusive musical experiences that foster both artistic and personal growth. Through a wide-ranging repertoire, adjudicated events, and global collaborations, the ensemble helps students develop lifelong skills and become thoughtful, creative, and engaged citizens.

John Choi is the Director of Choral Music at Indian Trail High School and Academy in Kenosha, WI, leading Chorale, Cantare, Concert Choir, and Treble Choir, and co-directing the KUSD Madrigal Choir. He served on the Wisconsin Choral Directors’ Association board (2008–2012) and planning committees for WCDA conferences (2006–2013), and received the WCDA Outstanding Young Choral Director Award in 2008. In 2023, Choi earned the KUSD SPARK Award for excellence in education. He holds a BA in Music from Carroll University and an MME in Choral Conducting from UW-Milwaukee. Choi also advises the Indian Trail National Honor Society chapter.
