ACDA National Honor Choirs are seeking experienced choral educators to serve as application screeners for the 2027 National Conference Honor Choirs. Volunteers must be current ACDA members with at least three years of teaching experience who currently teach or have taught the grade level of the respective Honor Choir.  Selected screeners will review approximately 100–150 applications between September 29–October 15, 2026, listening to each submission and completing a screening rubric through the application platform. Share your expertise and help select the next generation of outstanding Honor Choir singers! Complete the volunteer form by Monday, August 24, 2026.  Questions? American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) has named Amy Gordon’s “Finding Your Voice” as the winner in the 2026 Raymond W. Brock Prize for Professional Composers. Anuj Bhutani’s “Oaks and Roses” named Runner-Up. Amy Gordon is a composer, arranger, songwriter, and vocalist in Los Angeles, CA. She is an active choral composer and has been commissioned to write and arrange pieces for numerous ensembles and choirs, including Loyola Marymount University Choirs, SACRA/PROFANA, and Arlington Master Chorale. She loves collaborating with choirs of all types to create meaningful musical experiences that promote belonging, community, music education, and mental health advocacy. She loves setting poetry to music and writing her own texts and lyrics for her choral works and songs.  She is an active educator and teaches Music Theory, Composition, and Songwriting classes at Río…

Today, July 1, 2026, represents the first day of service for our new Midwestern Region President, Zachary Durlam! Dr. Durlam will represent our region membership on the National Board, direct the major initiatives and offerings of the Midwestern Region, and lead the 2028 Midwestern Conference. Zack Durlam serves as Director of Choral Activities at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), Artistic Director of the Master Singers of Milwaukee (MSM), and choir director at Grace Lutheran Church in Grafton, Wisconsin. He previously taught at Fresno Pacific University where he received the university’s Faculty Distinguished Service Award.  Prior to that, Durlam taught secondary vocal music for twelve years – including nine at Iowa City West High School where his Chamber Choir was chosen to perform at the NCACDA conference and the music department…
