Our Choir, the flagship ensemble, have consistently received high marks at state contests. In 2017, the our Choir made their mark on the allstate scene with having 19 students accepted and averaging 15-25 ever since!! The program was featured on TV covering the success of the program. Our choir, has performed in Chicago, New York City, Toronto, and the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. The ensemble has premiered three commissioned pieces including Moira Smiley, Connor Koppin, Paul Langford and Julie Thomas. All of our Singers follow a solfege/takadimi curriculum and receive voice instruction culminating the year by performing a solo.

Lori Potts is the head Choral Director at North Scott High School, Eldridge, Iowa. She is in her 31st year of teaching at North Scott. At North Scott, Lori gives leadership to 3 curricular choirs and 2 jazz choirs with over 180 participants. North Scott Choirs have consistently received high marks at state contests. In 2017, the North Scott Choir made their mark on the allstate scene with having 19 students accepted and averaging 15-25 ever since!! The program was featured on KWQC TV covering the success of the program. All of the North Scott Singers receive voice instruction and culminate the year by performing a solo. She credits years of adaptability, determination, creative education, Paul Skyles at the JH and husband Bruce as being her keys to leaving a legacy of building the HS program from “nothing to something!”
