
Luke McGinnis is the vocal music, music theory, and piano teacher at Munster High School in Munster, IN. Under his direction, the Munster High School Choral Program has performed at the 2026 Indiana Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference, performed in the 2023 Salzburg Choral Festival under the direction of both Dr. Edith Copley and Professor János Czifra, performed in concert with Grammy-nominated British vocal ensemble VOCES8, and released two full-length albums Through the Valley (2021) and With Love In Our Heart – Live from Austria (2023). In May 2025, the MHS Chorale performed in the Concert Hall at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts under the direction of Dr. Craig Jessop, as well as the televised Opening Ceremony of the National Memorial Day Parade on the steps of the National Archives Building.
Mr. McGinnis routinely sends students to the Indiana All-State Honor Choir and American Choral Directors Association Midwestern and National Honor Choirs. As a high-impact educator, McGinnis’s deep passion for reaching every student and bringing their voice to light illuminates the possibilities of music education. In 2024, he was named the Munster High School and School Town of Munster District Teacher of the Year.
Mr. McGinnis maintains an active singing career, performing with professional and community ensembles across the Midwest. He received his Bachelor of Music Education summa cum laude from Valparaiso University, where he was awarded the Exemplary Professional Praxis Award for Teacher Education, and holds a Master of Educational Leadership summa cum laude from the American College of Education. He is a proud member of the American Choral Directors Association, Indiana Music Education Association, and the Munster Teachers’ Association, and currently serves on the Executive Board of the Midwestern Region of the American Choral Directors Association.
