Concert Choir is the premier choral ensemble at the Mead Witter School of Music. The ensemble is composed of singers who demonstrate exceptional musicianship, vocal technique, and ensemble skills. 

Concert Choir is dedicated to performing a diverse repertoire that spans the entire breadth of the choral literary tradition. This commitment to artistic diversity ensures that members are exposed to a broad spectrum of styles, languages, and cultural expressions, fostering both musical and personal growth. In recent years, Concert Choir has achieved significant recognition for its artistry, earning the honor of performing at the 2022 Wisconsin Music Educators Association Convention and the 2025 ACDA National Conference. In 2024, Concert Choir was selected as the winner of the American Prize for Best Choral Performance in the large collegiate choir category.

Mariana Farah is the Director of Choral Studies at UW-Madison where she conducts Concert Choir, teaches courses in graduate choral conducting, and oversees all aspects of a comprehensive choral program. Prior to her appointment at UW-Madison, Farah served as the Associate Director of Choral Activities at the University of Kansas. Choirs under her leadership have successfully performed at the Missouri, Kansas, and Wisconsin Music Educators Association conventions and at the 2008 and 2018 Southwestern ACDA conferences. Most recently, the UW-Madison Concert Choir has been selected to perform at the 2025 ACDA National Convention in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Farah’s research focuses on Brazilian choral music, particularly the choral works of Ernani Aguiar. In addition to her work at UW-Madison, she maintains an active schedule as a clinician for festivals in Brazil and in the U.S. She has presented
